I have been a GP in this practice since 1980. I trained in Bristol, learnt to be GP at Northwick Park, worked through many changes in the surgery and the health service, and am keen for more changes to happen. I can remember this practice when there was only one doctor here - Dr Shackleton! And reception was guarded by two wise old nurses - Mary and Margaret. What would they think of the surgery now! I am directly involved in Harmoni, an organisation looking after patients when surgeries in West London are shut and working with NHS Direct to make it a useful and essential part of the local health system. I have several special interests: mental health, health information technology, children's health and asthma come to mind. I feel part of a great team and want to know more about what patients want, so we can make the Ridgeway the best!

I have been involved with the Primary Care Trust as the PEC Chairman in the past and continue to provide support and expertise for the PCT.

I qualified from the Royal Free Medical School in 1996. As a General Practitioner I have always had a special interest in Child Health. I started my career in paediatrics working in Great Ormond Street Hospital. After obtaining my Specialist Paediatric qualification I moved into General Practice, where my heart lay. I joined the Ridgeway Surgery in 2001. I continue to have close involvement with Children’s services for the wider community. I enjoy all aspects of medical education and am a Trainer for GPs. Outside of medicine I am most likely to be found discussing my Pekingese dogs or classic films.
