URGENT SURGERY UPDATE 14.12.2021

As you know, we are being asked to stop routine work to vaccinate as many people as possible against covid. We are open and seeing patients if you need our help and care.  We are delaying health checks like diabetes and blood pressure and will not be doing routine blood tests or appointments to discuss results over the next few weeks. Where possible please use patient access to look at blood results and request prescriptions.

If you still need to speak with us, our team will be asking brief details of your problem so that we can get the best person to help you. If you are unsure, please ask, we are still here. If you already have an appointment booked, we will be in touch if we need to reschedule. Please be kind to our staff who are working very hard to help in these difficult times.

eConsult – now only available during opening hours

Since launching eConsult on our website in May 2020, we have been glad that patients have found it useful and that it remains a responsive way for patients to contact us without needing to call up.

We are currently reviewing the system and to ensure it is as safe as possible for patients, we have for the moment switched off the system while we are closed.

This allows us to view the eConsults as they come in live and avoid a situation where an urgent matter could get delayed by being submitted while we are closed.

We are continuing to investigate and work with our patient group to look at the best forms of access into the practice.

If you try to access eConsult when the practice is closed and need medical help, please call 111.

The NHS is well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases and has put in
place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring
services are available to the public as normal.
