Travel Clinic

Information about countries and vaccinations required can be found on Travel Health Pro Website which gives detailed requirements and advice for worldwide destinations. Please check what you will need for your trip

The Patient Access Website gives access to your repeat medication and medical history including your previous vaccinations. (If you do not have a login please request from ridgeway.info@nhs.net)

Some vaccines are available on the NHS and can be given at the surgery. These include Hepatitis A, Typhoid and DPT (Diphtheria, Polio and Tetanus).

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible – at least 6 weeks before you travel – as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

These include Rabies, Hepatitis B, Japanese Encephalitis, meningitis for travel

We are not offering Covid-19 swabs for travel. Should you need one for travel please book these through your insurance/ airline or at a private clinic.

Malaria tablets for adults can be purchased directly from your pharmacy.
