Travel Vaccinations
Information and advice for travelling abroad
Travel Vaccinations
Some vaccines are available on the NHS and can be given at the surgery. These include Hepatitis A, Typhoid and DPT (Diphtheria, Polio and Tetanus). Please book a nurse appointment if you need any of these.
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
If you require assistance please contact us online. A practice nurse will review your journey and will reply within a week sending a text message to advise if any vaccinations are required.
Some additional vaccines are only available from private clinics. These include Rabies, Hepatitis B, Japanese Encephalitis, Yellow Fever and Cholera.
Malaria tablets can be purchased directly from your pharmacy.
